First Day of Preschool

Cooper's first day of preschool.

Collin's first day of mother's morning out.

Cooper checking in with his teacher.

He breezed through the doorway, but then glances back. A second later, he rushes to join his friends.

My two little boys started school today. I greeted the day with much excitement. For the first time in almost nine years, I'll regularly have almost six hours to myself!

This morning, the boys eagerly entered their classrooms. They seemed excited to play with new toys and visit with familiar school friends.

As for me, I should have frittered the day away with some dazzling "me" time. Instead, I used those hours to accomplish much needed projects. It's sad when the most exciting moment of the day was when I cleaned out the refrigerator. Although it wasn't glamorous, it felt nice to finally accomplish a thing or two sans kids.

At the end of the day, the boys seemed pleased.

When asked about his day, Cooper replied, "It was fine, but don't ask the teacher about it." He then steered me as far away from the teacher as possible.

Warning bells went off in my head. But, I glanced at his daily report, and his teacher had written in bold black letters, "Good day."

Makes me wonder what actually happened?
